The ‘Love Hoddesdon’ team, in conjunction with Broxbourne Council, the Royal British Legion and Hoddesdon Parish Church are making special efforts this year to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of World War 1.
Local schools, groups and individuals have been involved in both knitting poppies and making poppies from plastic bottles to help decorate key landmarks in the town in the lead up to Remembrance Day Parade and Service on Sunday 11th November. In addition a WW1 commemorative bench has been installed facing the War Memorial.
The costs of this project were funded by Love Hoddesdon BID Ltd and from the crowdfunding page that raised over £900. Any funds left after the project costs, will be split equally between the Royal British Legion and the Hoddesdon Parish Church Bells Appeal.
