Hoddesdon Loves Christmas

Monday 26th November 9am

A record breaking number of people turned out for the switch-on of the Christmas lights in Hoddesdon town centre on Saturday 24th November. A total of 18,000 people are thought to have passed through the town for the festivities on Saturday (November 24) and enjoyed a Santa’s Grotto, reindeers from Paradise Wildlife Park, various bands and musical theatre performances.

The event concluded with a Father Christmas parade through the streets followed by X Factor winner Sam Bailey performing and turning on the lights, together with the Mayor Councillor Carol Crump. The grand finale was a ten minute firework display.

The celebration was presented jointly by the Love Hoddesdon BID Team and Broxbourne Council, with the special guest and the Christmas tree sponsored by Nonna’s Kitchen.
