Places to visit in Hoddesdon to inspire your next journey

As the pandemic continues, we find ourselves occupied with work around the house, garden date nights and learning new subjects that we would have only dreamed of starting. Family time has grown and the need to find a new route to fill up the all important hour exercise is increasing.

Here are some ideas on new places to visit to mix up your daily exercise (whilst following Government guidelines on keeping a distance with others!)

Dobbs Weir
Find on the map
Get your boots on and go for a gentle walk down Dobbs Weir. Its lake and woods makes for that all important relaxing walk.

Glen Faba

If you really fancy stretching your legs, then just to the north of Dobbs Weir you’ll find the wilder, less visited area of Glen Faba. Filled with all types of wildlife, you will find yourself lost in the sights and sounds of nature.

Rye House Gatehouse

One of the first brick built houses in the country, this structure was meant to project power, prestige and wealth. The gatehouse is situated right near Rye house Quay, another lovely spot to visit during your journey.

Danemead Nature Reserve

Located in Broxbourne Woods on Cock Lane, this nature reserve is laid out with information signs, boardwalks through marshy ground and marked paths.

Barclay Park

This popular parkland area boasts a beautiful lake with wildfowl, a wild flower meadow and native woodland area.
