Rock Around the Clock Tower 2025

Wednesday 20th August 8am

Hoddesdon town centre came alive for a hugely successful Rock Around The Clock Tower event on Sunday 17th August.

Organised by Hoddesdon Allstars, and supported by Love Hoddesdon BID, the day-long music festival created an electrifying atmosphere that showcased all that’s good about Hoddesdon, with everyone from families and young children to seasoned music-lovers enjoying the day.

The free-to-attend festival attracted an estimated 6,500 people across the day to watch a series of bands play on the main stage in the High Street with further live performances at The White Swan and The Bell 1940s Tea Room.

There were also a range of family attractions including a ferris wheel and children’s funfair stalls.

The town’s cafés, restaurants and takeaways reported one of their best trading days in recent times, while for those who wanted food on the go there was a good selection of street food caterers on hand as well.

The event raises money for the Great Ormond Street Hospital charity and Hoddesdon Allstars will reveal the total amount raised once all the donations and costs are in.

A total of 22 Love Hoddesdon volunteers were involved carrying out various duties over the weekend including promotional and road closure set-up, as well as clearing up during and after the event. Love Hoddesdon BID’s Events and Promotions Chair Stephen Harris said: “A rocking big thank-you to all our volunteers who played their part in the success of Rock Around The Clock Tower. We could not have managed the event without them and their contribution is very, very much appreciated.”

Love Hoddesdon BID Manager Aaron Gransby added: “Rock Around The Clock Tower was a brilliant event and the whole town was really buzzing on Sunday. Well done to the Hoddesdon Allstars and our fabulous events team for putting on such a great festival and raising so much money for a really worthwhile cause too. The feedback from businesses again showed that these crowd-pleasing events also play a vital role in helping to support so many of our local shops and eateries.”
