Food & Drink Fest a great success

Visitors to Hoddesdon had a treat when 30 food and drink vendors rolled into town last Saturday (19^th September) for the Love Hoddesdon Food & Drink Fest.

The number of food trucks and stalls was up markedly on last year, with 30 traders placed throughout the High Street and around the War Memorial and Clock Tower spaces, offering all types of food from around the world, including Turkish food, Greek gyros, German sausages, Italian pizza, American smoked meats from our very own Smokeshed and burgers, Caribbean food as well as a variety of different homemade cakes and treats from several different indie bakers, and cocktails.

Other attractions included small rides for children and two DJ stations which added to the day’s fun vibe.

Feedback from the exhibitors so far has been very positive with one declaring it “the best one yet” and another calling it “a really great event”.

Love Hoddesdon organises these events to bring extra people into the town centre to support our local businesses.

On the back of the Food & Drink Fest, three new initiatives are about to be rolled out to support our restaurants and hospitality businesses – watch this space for more info – along with initiatives to support other retailers and health & wellness businesses.

Thank you to everyone who came along on Saturday, to all our exhibitors and, crucially, our Love Hoddesdon volunteer force led by Events & Promotions Chair Stephen Harris, for giving up their day to help our town put on another great event.

Next year’s Food 7 Drink Fest will be held on Saturday 18^th September 2027 and work is already underway to make it even better, building on feedback from those who took part.
